As reported widely and on CNN:
Fox News released a snippet of the interview -- the full version will run on Ingraham's show Thursday night -- in which Trump talks about the public statement given by former special counsel Robert Mueller last week.
Here's what Trump said:
"Let me tell you, he made such a fool out of himself ... because what people don't report is the letter he had to do to straighten out his testimony because his testimony was wrong."
In case you were wondering yes the question was clearly about Mueller not Comey:
“Do you mind if he testifies still? Before you said you didn’t care if Mueller testifies?”
The letter Trump is referring to was one regarding Comey not Mueller:
The FBI on Tuesday corrected the sworn testimony of Director James Comey, who last week told Congress that a top aide to Hillary Clinton had sent “hundreds and thousands” of emails to her husband’s laptop, including some with classified information.
In fact, the FBI said in a two-page letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, only “a small number” of the thousands of emails found on the laptop had been forwarded there while most had simply been backed up from electronic devices. Most of the email chains on the laptop containing classified information were not the result of forwarding, the FBI said.
If you’re going to insult a war hero on the 75th anniversary of D-Day in front of a veteran’s cemetery on national television, at least you could insult the right guy or is that too much to ask, Mr. Trump?
